Hey Beauties !
Hello! I'm Arielle, a seasoned hairstylist with 14+ years of experience. My journey with hair has been deeply personal. For years, I struggled to embrace my natural curly afro, often relying on wigs, extensions, and flat irons to achieve a smoother texture.
At 14, I began experimenting with wigs and hair pieces, a passion that only grew stronger. A YouTube video of a woman hand-making wigs sparked my creativity, leading me to craft my own wigs for several years.
As a hairstylist, I've witnessed firsthand the impact of hair loss on my clients. Their stories resonated deeply, motivating me to share my knowledge. I dedicated myself to researching and testing various hair types, investing thousands of dollars to find the perfect, tangle-free hair for my clients.
Whether you're experiencing hair loss, seeking a change, or protecting your natural hair, I'm here to guide you. Get comfortable, and let's explore the world of wigs together!

Types of Hair
With numerous options available, choosing the right type of hair for your wig or extension can be overwhelming. Let's break down the most popular types of hair:
Indian Hair
Indian hair is renowned for its exceptional quality and is highly prized in the beauty industry. It's incredibly light, airy, and full of bounce, making it easy to style. Indian hair typically comes in natural straight and natural wave styles.
Features and Advantages:
Thick and luscious: Indian hair is known for its thickness and luscious texture.
Dark and rich colors: Indian hair comes in a range of dark and rich colors, from black to dark brown.

Versatile styling options: Indian hair can be styled in a variety of ways, from straight to curly.
Brazilian Hair
Brazilian hair is soft, relatively thick, and extremely durable. It's suitable for any style, whether straight, wavy, or curly. Brazilian hair also takes color exceptionally well, making it an excellent choice for lighter-colored wigs.
Features and Advantages:
Thick and full-bodied: Brazilian hair is known for its thickness and full-bodied texture.
Wavy and curly patterns: Brazilian hair comes in a range of wavy and curly patterns, from loose waves to tight curls.

Blend well with African American hair: Brazilian hair blends well with African American hair, making it a popular choice for hair extensions and weaves.
Virgin Hair
Virgin hair is 100% original human hair that has never undergone chemical treatment. With proper care, virgin hair can last up to 4 years.
Features and Advantages
Unprocessed and natural: Virgin hair is raw and untouched, with an intact cuticle layer.
Longer lifespan: Lasts up to 2-5 years with proper care.
Less tangling and shedding: The intact cuticle layer reduces tangling and shedding.
More styling versatility: Can be styled with heat tools, colored, and permed.
Natural shine and luster: Retains its natural shine and luster.
Cuticle Hair
Cuticle hair is the highest quality hair available. The cuticle is completely intact, resulting in superior hair strands. Cuticle hair can be heated, styled, and colored while maintaining its quality. Even with color processing, cuticle hair can last up to 4 years with proper care.
Features and Advantages
Intact cuticle layer: The cuticle layer is intact, reducing tangling and shedding.
Less shedding and breakage: The intact cuticle layer reduces shedding and breakage.
More durable: More resistant to damage from heat styling tools and environmental factors.
Natural shine and luster: Retains its natural shine and luster.
Can be reused: Can be reused and re-styled multiple times.
Remy Hair
Remy hair is a popular choice due to its high quality and affordability. It's collected from a single donor, ensuring the cuticles flow in the same direction. Remy hair undergoes a chemical process to preserve the cuticle and prevent tangling. With proper care, Remy hair can last up to a year.
Features and Advantages
Cuticles aligned: Cuticles are aligned in the same direction, reducing tangling and shedding.
Soft and silky texture: Remy hair has a soft and silky texture.
Natural movement and flow: Moves naturally, giving it a more realistic look.
Longer lifespan: Lasts up to 1-2 years with proper care.
Less shedding and breakage: The aligned cuticles reduce shedding and breakage.
Non-Remy Hair
Non-Remy human hair is collected from multiple sources, and the cuticles may not flow in the same direction. This hair undergoes processing to remove part of the cuticle, preventing tangling. However, non-Remy hair may still mat after a few months of use.
Features and Advantages
Processed or treated: May have been processed or treated to align the cuticles.
More affordable: Generally cheaper than Remy hair.
Good quality option: Still a good quality option for those on a budget.
Can be styled: Can be styled with heat tools and colored.
Good for trying new styles: Can be a good option for those who want to try out a new style without committing to a more expensive option.
Key Differences Between Remy and Virgin Hair
While both Remy and Virgin hair are natural human hair, there are significant differences:
Processing: Remy hair is processed, while Virgin hair is non-chemically processed.
Donor History: Remy hair donors may have used chemical products, whereas Virgin hair donors have not.
Source: Remy hair may come from multiple donors, whereas Virgin/Cuticle hair comes from a single donor.
Choosing the Right Cap Size
Imagine wearing a wig that feels like a second skin. Finding the perfect fit is crucial for a comfortable and secure wig,
Cap size is the size of the base of the wig. It needs to fit your head comfortably and securely.
To achieve this, you need to find the right cap size. Here's how:
Measure around your head, starting from the center of your forehead.
Go around the back of your head, just above your ears.
Return to the starting point, ensuring the tape measure is level.
Cap Size Options
These are the different wig base sizes
Petite: 21-21.5 inches (53-55 cm) in circumference, ideal for smaller head sizes.
Average: 21.5-22.5 inches (55-57 cm), the most common size.
Large: 22.5-23.5 inches (57-60 cm), suitable for larger head sizes.
Extra Large: 23.5 inches (60 cm) or more, for larger head sizes.
Wig Cap Features
Pre-Sewn Transitional Hair Line
A type of hairline construction where individual hairs are hand-tied to the wig cap in a way that creates a gradual, natural-looking transition from the hairline to the rest of the wig.
Pre-Bleached Knots
The purpose of bleaching knots is to make the wig look like it's growing from your scalp. As you can see above, bleaching the knots makes the lace wig look very natural.
Pre-Made Fake Scalp
A pre-made fake scalp is a layer of thin, skin-like material that is attached to the inside of a wig cap to mimic the appearance of a natural scalp.
Piano Key Elastic Band
A type of elastic band with evenly spaced notches, designed to provide a secure, comfortable, and flexible fit for wigs. The notches or "keys" help to distribute the tension evenly, preventing the wig from slipping or shifting.
Wig Density
Wig density refers to the amount of hair on the cap, the more the amount of hair of the wig cap the fuller and heavier the wig is.
Wig density options
Extra Light Density (180-100%): This is suitable for thinning hair and the roots and ends will both have not a lot of density.
Light Density (130%): This is suitable for thinning hair or natural looks.
Medium Density (150%): This is popular for everyday wear.
Heavy Density (180%): This is ideal for voluminous styles.
Extra-Heavy Density (250%+): This is right for maximum volume.
Securing Methods
There are several ways to secure a wig to your head. Here are some common methods:
Adhesives: This method uses a special glue or tape to attach the wig to your skin. It's usually used for lace front wigs and can be applied to the perimeter of the wig.
Tapes: Double-sided tapes are used to secure the wig to your head. These tapes are gentle on the skin and can be reused.
Clips: Adjustable clips are attached to the wig and clipped onto your natural hair. This method is easy to use and doesn't require any adhesives.
Lace Frontals: A lace frontal is a thin, breathable material that is attached to the front of the wig. It creates a natural-looking hairline and can be secured with adhesives or tapes.
Monofilament: Monofilament is a thin, breathable material that is used to create a natural-looking scalp. It's usually used for full lace wigs and can be secured with adhesives or tapes.
Hand-Tied: Hand-tied wigs have individual strands of hair tied to the wig's base. This method creates a natural look and feel. The wig can be secured with adhesives, tapes, or clips.
Glueless Lace: Glueless lace is a pre-made lace frontal that doesn't require any adhesives. It's usually attached to the wig's base and can be secured with tapes or clips.
